Just don't knee-drop. Here's why.
If you had any idea how bruised up my knee is from ONE knee-drop the other day, you'd probably be freaked out. I've learned the hard way that the knee-drop is a delicate and tricky thing to pull off. there are certain areas of your knee that are very sensitive, and prone to bruising. You could even cause some serious damage to your cartlidge under your kneecap, I've learned of this happening to DDR players as a result of trying to look cool. Just doesn't work. If you're going to knee-drop, have on some thick pants or something that'll protect you, or a light kneepad or gel kneebrace would work. Just some friendly advice. |

even a small hit on your knee can get you hard injured... I've proven it myself with a painless and weak (really weak, almost noticeless) hit on the chair last day , and today it's hurting like I had some big accident or something like
it depends WHERE it gets hit at all |

lol that reminds me one time at an arcade where I double knee dropped, but was pushed, thus landing on the metal part of the pads with both my kness. I couldn't stand for a while after that. |

Man, I don't know how you do knee drops but when i do them i typically don't put weight on my knee. The pads are quite sensitive. If you take the time to test it out watch the lights and see how easy it is to just shift your weight on one foot a little and the light will change. The less you pick up your feet the less energy you end up using, not that it's a great idea to shuffle around everywhere. But back to the point, I do knee drops constantly. Atleast 3 per song. Expecially in Dynamite Rave. The parts where it's down-left and then up-right i hit the first set with my feet then i drop to my knees for the up-right ones. In 2 years I have never had a problem just gotta keep control of your body is all. One of the most extensive uses I have of them is on Boom Boom Dollar. Near the ending when it's the long string of up arrows followed by the 3 close ones, I'll have my feet on the side arrows and i'll do right knee on up then left knee on up then right hand on up then left hand on up then a quick right knee, left knee both hands. I mix it up a bit too, call it my "patty cake" move. I'm new to the site by the way. Your articles on Freestyling seem somewhat... Limited. For instance you should really talk about style as opposed to what to wear. When i say style i mean dance style. Have you ever seen people in the 20's dance? Where they'll do that kick move? You can actually do that and make it look quite slick on the pads. Also the "crip walk" is another nice thing, look up videos of it on kazaa if you haven't seen it. And my favorite style is break dancing. One of the most basic and coolest looking moves is involving a series of hand plants... Easy to pull off too. Say the patter is just a basic left-right, up, down, right, up. You hit the left-right with your feet, then you hit the up with your right hand then you bend backwards and hit the down with your left hand. From there you kick your right foot up and at the same time put your right hand on the right arrow and then twist your torso so that you can kick your left foot onto the up arrow and your right onto the left. A pretty decent looking move if you pull it off smoothly (not a difficult task if you practice once or twice). Sorry to ramble on but it's 2:18 AM and i'm bored. If you have any questions or want to share cool moves hit me on AIM at NewmanD8585. My buddy icon is a nice little move I came up with that's quite hard to do but it's cool as hell .
I'll be talking to you on AIM i'm sure DancerYoo. |

yeah, it hurts like hell! Once I was pushed and I double knee droped, and I landed on cement... (and I was wearing really thin trousers) I couldn't stand up for more than 3 minutes... and it hurt for a lot of time... so, that's how i learnt that knee drop hurts... |
